How often does my car need a tune-up?+

Most modern vehicles with platinum or iridium spark plugs need a tune-up every 60,000–100,000 miles. Older vehicles with copper plugs may need one every 30,000 miles. Check your owner's manual for the specific interval, or ask our technicians — we'll look it up for your vehicle.

What does a tune-up include?+

Our tune-up covers spark plugs, ignition coils or wires, engine air filter, fuel filter, and PCV valve. We also check distributor cap and rotor on applicable vehicles, verify idle speed and timing, and run a full diagnostic scan. We'll let you know if we find anything else that needs attention.

How much does a tune-up cost?+

Tune-up cost depends on your vehicle — 4-cylinder engines are less than V6 or V8 engines because of the number of spark plugs and the labor involved. Spark plug type (copper vs. platinum vs. iridium) also affects cost. Call your nearest Chloe's location for a vehicle-specific quote.

Will a tune-up fix my check engine light?+

It depends on the cause. If the light is on due to misfires, worn spark plugs, or ignition issues, a tune-up will likely resolve it. If the code points to a different system (oxygen sensor, catalytic converter, EVAP leak), additional diagnostics may be needed. We always scan codes before recommending a tune-up.
